John Barnes

After 30 years working in the fast-paced world of Information Technology in the Marine Corps, Department of Defense, and the Oil & Gas Industry, I decided it was time to trade the screens and servers for marsh air and sunrises. My entire career has been built around solving complex problems, leading teams, and keeping systems running. But my heart was always outdoors — on the water, where the tide sets the schedule (not corporate America) and the marsh decides the day (not your boss).

Leaving IT wasn’t about slowing down — it was about finally aligning my work with my passion. Breaking free from the burdening weight of the chains of digital life to the freedom of a more analog life. I started this charter fishing business to share the peace, challenge, and pure enjoyment that come with a day on the water in Southeast Louisiana. The same attention to detail and dedication that guided my military and tech career now goes into every trip — from finding the ideal fishing scenarios and bait to ensuring every guest leaves with great memories and maybe a few fish stories of their own.

For the past 20 years, I’ve spent my free time exploring this region’s inshore marshes — studying the tides, learning the patterns, and chasing reds, specks, and other species from Slidell to Delacroix and to Hopedale and the skinny waters in between. Those years on the water taught me more than any manual or map ever could: how the fish move with the weather, how the marsh breathes with the seasons, and how every sunrise out there is a story waiting to unfold.

Whether it’s your first time casting in the marsh or you’re a seasoned angler chasing that next big catch on your fly rod, I aim to make each trip something special — authentic, relaxed, and full of the spirit of south Louisiana.

Welcome aboard. Let’s just take it all in and go fishing.
