Most Popular FAQs
I get it — before you book a trip, you want to know what to expect. Here you’ll find answers to the most common questions I get about fishing with Drumspot Charters — from what to bring and what’s included, to how the weather and tides shape the day. If you don’t see your question here, just give me a call — I am happy to help you get ready for your day on the water.
Is a Fishing License Required?
Yes. A recreational fishing license is required.
You do NOT need a recreational fishing license if you are:
- A resident or nonresident under 18 years old (17 and under).
- A Louisiana resident born before June 1, 1940, who has lived in Louisiana for at least six months.
If you meet one of the above criteria, you must still have proof of age in your possession whenever fishing.

Full Day: 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM (weather permitting).
If the creel limit is reached early and you decide to head in; it’s still considered a full-day charter.
When Should I Arrive?
Plan to arrive no later than 6:00 AM to allow time for gear transfer and check-in. We push off at safe light (around 6:30 AM). However, It’s strongly recommended to meet at the designated boat launch at least an hour before departure.
How Many People Can Go?
Each full-day trip accommodates up to two anglers. For larger groups, contact me, and I can assist with other arrangements.
